A Staff Accountant plays a crucial role in assisting the accounting department to ensure the effective management of the company's financial resources. Responsibilities

  • Financial Record Maintenance: Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with established accounting standards and principles.
  • General Ledger Entries: Prepare and post general ledger entries, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
  • Accounts Receivable and Payable: Process invoices, reconcile accounts, and assist in managing accounts receivable and payable.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform bank reconciliations to ensure consistency between company records and bank statements.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of financial statements, reports, and summaries for management review.
  • Expense Tracking: Monitor and track expenses, ensuring they are within the allocated budget and properly documented.
  • Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports.
  • Data Entry: Accurately input financial data into accounting software and maintain organized records.
  • Compliance: Ensure all accounting practices are compliant with relevant regulations and internal policies.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Perform other accounting-related tasks and projects as assigned by senior accountants or management.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: Previous internship or work experience in accounting is preferred but not required.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct), Accounts Payable applications such as Bill.com and Divvy, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), and Google mail and drive.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail and ability to analyze financial data accurately.
