Job Description

Viraaj HR Solutions is seeking a skilled AS400 System Administrator to join our team in Pune, Maharashtra. The ideal candidate will have experience in AS400 system administration and strong knowledge of IBM iSeries systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain AS400 systems.
  • Perform regular system backups and recovery procedures.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure optimal operation.
  • Apply system patches and upgrades as necessary.
  • Manage security protocols to protect data integrity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
  • Assist users with system access and operational questions.
  • Document system configurations, changes, and issues.
  • Conduct regular system audits to identify improvements.
  • Implement disaster recovery plans to ensure system availability.
  • Collaborate with IT team to enhance system functionalities.
  • Maintain inventory of hardware and software resources.
  • Train new staff on AS400 system usage.
  • Provide technical support for AS400 applications.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational standards and policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Proven experience in AS400 system administration.
  • Strong knowledge of IBM iSeries systems.
  • Familiarity with programming languages like RPG and CL.
  • Experience with system backup and recovery tools.
  • Understanding of network configurations.
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot software and hardware issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.
  • Capable of working independently and in team settings.
  • Certification in AS400 or related technologies is a plus.
  • Knowledge of database management and SQL is preferred.
  • Ability to work on-site and collaborate with team members.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and upgrade skills.
  • Experience in a client-facing role is an advantage.
